Blue Mountain

You may have heard, or not. That this hiking trailing/ area is in jeopardy of being wiped out by a new development within the HRM. I am not here to take a stance either way. Arguments can be made for both sides. All I really want to say is, I did the hike. It is an incredible view of a large portion of HRM. I highly recommend you get out and do it. Especially if there is a chance it will not be around forever. Read the full story here,  http://thechronicleherald.ca/community/halifax/1207117-halifax-park-in-limbo

One major issue with this hike, and the whole park area in general is there is little info about it. It was not the easiest to find (even though its minutes outside of the city). The trail head is at the end of a residential road that offers basically no parking (you can park on the road). Also you need to basically trespass through a private woodlot in order to get to the trail that takes you up the back side of the mountain (mountain being a reasonable hill). Basically you can really tell that the area is in limbo, and a decision on what to do with it has not been made.
That is all I really have to say about that, I will lay out some pics to show you the trail head, and some guiding photos to get you to the top. ENJOY! And GET OUT AND HIKE!
